SW Iowa | No, they were not.
I wouldn't recommend this farming business to any youngster with ambition and a good work ethic. What kind of a business are we in where you have to hope your neighbors have a crop failure before you can make a dollar? Where your customers want you to work for nothing or better yet go broke so more efficient BTO's can take over your production... And, everyone you deal with including the government is out to screw you out of any dollars you made with their regulations and special programs.
What has happened to us in agriculture?
Youngins, stay in school, get your degree, and get a job working for one of these nasty corps where you can have regular pay, merit increases, retirement, health insurance, and all you have to do is show up for work at a regular time, and do the tasks assigned. No worries about weather, gov., neighbors crops, CBOT, breakdowns, cost of production, seed variety to plant, weed resistance to herbicides, etc, etc, dddd
Geeze! Where is my bucket list | |
