Ontario's middle east | You are witnessing an environment where bu are now bidding for space after being in a long period where space was bidding for bu. Commercials are going to still want to move out DP/PL beans because they are expensive to finance and the space is more desirable for earning the bigger carry in corn. Without the opportunity to lock in inverted sell spreads this year, it is pretty questionable that shorting the basis right after harvest will workout well in a carry market. They may have to do it anyways to make room for your corn but they aren't eager to eat a loss on the beans. | |
