N FLA | Avg steer carcass weight = 889 lbs. Let's say 1430 lbs live. Probably above average steers but well call them average. Garvo says 100 bushels of corn + $100. Our corn is worth 3.85 here. I'd assume its less in Iowa. But well use that. So we have sell [email protected]= $2145. Buy $1600 + $485. Again just using averages.
How come that sounds like it adds up and is likely 0.50/bushel above current grain prices? Heck throw in some discount hominy like Garvo buys and it sounds pretty good. Is somebody giving me bad numbers. | |
