Subject: Lingo question

Formerly NE North Dakota, now NW MN
I'm not trying to nitpick here....but inadvertently that's going to be what I do.

I thought in trader lingo when you "write" something that meant exclusively that you sold it. Exp- "oh yesterday I bought some puts and wrote some calls to finance" or "I had a a few thousand dollars to burn so I started writing wheat puts yesterday".

Is that incorrect? does writing and option also mean purchasing?

Again, not trying to be a jerk nitpicker here, just wondering.

update/ edit to add: read your response to him and you are talking about selling puts. which makes more sense. SHould have known since you are bullish.

I like your optimism!
