just a tish NE of central ND
I hear you! Some good friends of ours custom chop and go through exactly what you say. Our family members have always helped out when there is a dire need and they cant find help so they can keep running. I have to agree on all of the above but lots of times those fields are 1/8th mile long, irregular shaped and against the lakeside with trees and rock piles hidden in tall corn and stones laying unpicked on the ground because they come up with top dressing and planting, or solid ones sticking out the size of a car. A lot of the ground is also hills and gully's, hills that you cant make it up with a truck on dry ground and don't know if it will tip over or not if you do.
THESE ARE GOOD PEOPLE that have no other choices. The bad part is that IS what some of the farmland is ALL like in their areas... They don't have any ground that is any different and livestock feed is what they need to get out of that kind of rough ground. So to them, its just normal to work with what they have. Its hard to run 12 row chopper in that kind of stuff.
(by the way, the 12 row Claus chopper they run is awesome)
