Subject: RE: Portable shade for cattle (pic)

Driftless SW Wisconsin

The inventor is a local cattle farmer who does rotational grazing of grassfed beef. Wind and cattle damage was discussed at the meeting. He says he has used one and they have enough of them out that they are not concerned about either wind or cattle. I recall he said it was guaranteed for 10 years and in winds up to 30 mph as I recall.

It is heavy and well built with a unique folding mechanism. It seems to fold very easily.  I can't comment on the price other than it is well engineered and heavy, neither of which are cheap.  The inventor said around 50 cows can get under it at one time.

I use my woods for shade in the system I sketched on this board earlier, so this is not something I need but there are places where it would be useful as Ben has described. Just posted here for discussion.
