North Central Ohio | The Bidwell and Xenia plants are sow slaughter facilities (i.e. sausage for Bob Evans, etc.) The Sandusky plant is J.H. Routh Packing and they like lighter weight (210-255 lb. live), lean hogs. They do no contracting, but if you can put together loads of 40 head, will schedule kill times and will do grade and yield. They do have a live buying program for lesser amounts of hogs M-F 5 to 11 AM. Good people to work with and buyers will make constructive suggestions on your breeding stock. | |
