Kingston,Mi
What are you attempting to determine the moisture of, the grain or the whole plant for silage? If you are whole plant for silage, personally I would take a complete node and have at it with the cleaver before I tried to determine moisture by the microwave method. When doing the microwave dry and weigh method follow the suggestion to have a sacrificial water source in at the same time you are drying the sample, I didn't once (only once) and caught the plastic liner in the microwave on fire. The office that had purchased it was not impressed, cost me a few dollars to make right.
