southern MN | 2012 was mighty dry (tho it managed to flood out the low spots with one wet week in June) but that makes an easy harvest anyhow. And crop prices were high - here I get an ok crop in a dry year, I understand its not like that other places.
2013 I got the microburst wind just as I started harvest, pea hail popped the beans, the corn blew over flat. Left a good chunk,of my crop in the field, was kinda hard to see that every day.
2014 is just miserable from start to so far. Too wet and cold, flooding horrible deepest ever seen rain in late June, early frost. All we need is for the weekend hurricane remnants they are forecasting to set up and keep raining 3 weeks, and it would be the perfect bad farming year. Oh, with crop prices dropping every week.
