eastern Nebraska | Sounds like you are with an IB with multiple clearing relationships. So that's good, especially if you like the guy you are working with. Find out what the quickest turnaround time would be between A) liquidation, and B) transfer. If you liquidate tomorrow, the trade won't clear until tomorrow night, so you wouldn't be able to wire money out until Wednesday. Then you could just reestablish the trade at the new house once the account is set up if you want. It might be possible though to get paperwork completed today along with a transfer form and have that process started tomorrow. Find out what the transfer policy is though, I can't remember if a clearing house is given a 5-day grace period to transfer. Who knows if it is a screwy situation, but it is better to be safe than sorry. | |
