Subject: RE: Church closing

south east SD
Our Catholic church is in fine shape, 150 family's with a lot of young kids and money in the bank. The people bought, built, maintain and keep the church running. But the Diocese always remind us that they own everything. Now if we want to use the church hall we have to buy a one day insurance policy to use it, to the tone of $100. Everything is run by the insurance company now! I know if they close the church for some reason, I'll make darn sure they are held to maintain the cemetery of all the members who built up all the wealth that they want to claim!

Make sure your Synod or Diocese don't claim the property, if it is a rural church they don't want it, but our former bishop did lay claim to a down town church that was worth millions. Sometimes dealing with those SOB's is a real pain.
