Most of our beans are just showing a little color and the upper pods are pretty much filled. It looked like most of the fields between here and Huron are all about the same with a few later ones and a few that are showing pretty good color. I am not sure what different it makes how many pods per plant or the population when it comes to damage by the frost. We have a good canopy like most fields so that helps with frost. I have had a fair amount of early frost and freezes in the last 30 years were I farm and I would say that this is a very minor frost compared to most and will have very little effect on yields. I surely can't see this frost helping the market out if it wasn't a lot worse in other areas. |
