| Do you know why ethanol usage in Brazil flex-vehicles has dropped so much? Perhaps they are utilizing more of that off-shore deep Oil production from Petrobras?
My understanding was that Brazil was hoping to further expand its Ethanol production so it could actually compete in certain other countries -Indonesia and Europe - as they promote it as being cheaper to run vehicles on Ethanol than on refined gasoline from Oil. My guess is that is the reason why the government would support a subsidy. I have certainly been wrong before, though. | |
