One would think that someone from Missouri would be smarter then to fall for the mistake of thinking Kansas is all the same.  Our annual rainfall is north of 47" and we do get large rain events on a fairly frequent basis.  I've seen 15" more then a couple times, and we will get into double digits a couple times most every year.  We're already past your 32" figure this year, and the fall rainy season is still months away.
