Bring it on, I remember in '95 I was in the black hills and got a foot of snow around Sept. 15th and on my way home the smell of burnt frozen greens permeated the air. Milo that year was 25 to 30 bu per acre.
I think the bigger effect of this cold air coming may not be just the freeze or frost but may be more so the lack of maturing the crop. Corn harvest will last well into the winter unless you have some big dryers. Remember all the fog days in August? Moisture in November, could be rain most likely snow.
Around here corn is all but mature and most beans need 2 weeks yet to mature. Some corn will come out of field this week that was severely drought damaged and beans still need another rain.
