Subject: RE: Just a couple of things to keep in mind.

Centre county Pennsylvania, USA
Several hours of 32 degree air temperature with calm wind and clear sky has nearly always stopped bean production for us here in central PA. Clear sky with air temps below 32 degrees seems to cause freeze damage in upper leaves and pods, where the late pods are filling. That effectively stops pod filling (and dry matter accumulation) of those late pods. Not sure why that happens here (elevation 1000 feet above MSL), but have heard rumor that radiation cooling of exposed plant leaves and pods can, and does, lower their temperature by several degrees on calm clear air nights.
