Yes.

Never had an operating loan except to buy cattle.

Couple caveats: Low input farming out here in the desert. Rented land is on shares. Some land is owned with a mortgage.

34 yr. old. farming since I was 18. Started renting one quarter, self financed the crop with savings from WORKING for wages since I was 12 yr. old. Started by hoeing cotton, then driving tractor for family members. Had enough saved by the time I was ready to farm I never went to the bank for a loan until I was about 28 and wanted to buy a farm. Since then I have had a few loans for equipment and cattle.
