If you're truly starting from nothing, then grain farming isn't where you want to start.
Yeah, I can see how that would be. This area is probably a better place for a startup because there are so many different things a guy can do. It would be totally different to try to start farming out in the Palouse amongst a bunch of operations that have been at it for 100 years. Equity and related obstacles aside, just lacking the history and connections to landlords could doom a startup. I did have some history and connections to work with right out of school.
