no I am not saying that, all costs in, barn, labour power death loss feed freight today weanlings are 100 dollars each profit is there only because of the price of grain, if grain was higher I could not pay and would not pay 100 bucks for a weaner, my point is this if you can buy it cheaper than you can grow it, I could care less what time of the year it is cost of sommerfallow 10 bucks an acre if you were showing a loss anyway why take the gamble, it is easy economics, if your cost of production is 4 bucks and the market is 3.50 buy it on the board is way smarter than spending 400 dollars an acre when you are hoping you make money if the market goes up you have your crop on the board and make most of the move barring the crazy basis we have seen the last 2 years but if there was grain left basis would not have done this so obviously most farmers did not have much left anyway,
