South Central NE | Guys,
The banks will be only a small part of the problem. The examiners and regulators are going to be the big problem. The fed sees the farm situation as a bubble that has burst and that land will follow. I know one examiner who is scared to death about the farm economy. That will make it tough for the banker who would like to go forward with a suspect farm loan. I mentioned in a post the other day that a local banker (not ours) made the comment that 2 of his farm clients were about to have a rude awakening because they had been taking living draws of $150000/yr. If the markets stabilize than this will all be a bad dream but if they continue lower it could be tough going forward. Thanks... | |
