Helena, OK
From my understanding the only 07 dodge trucks with the new engine is the cab and chassis heavy duty. The 3/4 ton and 1 ton standard trucks are going to still have the 5.9 until 08. This is just what i heard. I bought 06 3/4 ton quad cab in May and feel that the ride is as good as the ford or chevy. I also had the Jake Brake installed and love it for towing or just plane driving. Don't hardly use the brakes anymore. The new engine is going to have less power than the 5.9 but the torque should be the same. They are also putting a 6 speed auto behind the new engine. The 06 auto is the same tranny they have had but only with larger planetaries and a locking torque converter, so it acts and pulls more like a manual. I really like the 06 auto for pulling. If you have any other question feel free to ask.
