individual bales can be stacked, less chance of rats and mice chewing holes from every bale resting on the ground. Also individual bales can be sorted by quality and moisture, if you see a low quality bale it's easy just to put it in a separate pile. I've seen long rows of inline bales and I would sure hate to drive to the end if there was a lot of snow on the ground. Yes individual bales take more plastic and take longer to wrap but it is my preference, to each his own!!
