Minneota, MN | No JD Link used here, no Wireless Data Transfer used here, no data uploaded to MyJohnDeere.com. Not today, not tomorrow, I don't think I'll ever share this data with JD. Deere has a nice "trust" policy, but who is auditing Deere's adherence to their policy? Anyone? Most likely no one.
Data breaches are a daily occurrence, so I can easily imagine someone hacking JD's data and stealing the information. What happens if an employee of JD doesn't follow their policy and uses the growers' data to do things like pricing new equipment based on how good the growers' crop was?
I'm not picking on JD as this could be any ag supplier or manufacturer. Just know that once the data leaves your computer, all bets are off on who sees it and uses it!!! | |
