I didn't read the whole article yet, but the concept of central banks handing money direct to the people, didn't this essentially happen about 10 years ago with the big tax rebates? I remember getting $1200 direct from uncle sam, and we were all supposed to go spend it. problem is, not enough people did, and the plan failed.

Am I misremembering that?

And how would this plan be any different?
