think of it this way: If you give me a printed paper copy of your yield map, fsa map, balance sheet, etc, etc, etc (in other words, me = cloud or whatever data custodian) and I say, "hey thanks, you can have this back at anytime." If that data/map/whatever has any value to me (which should be obvious, because why would I accept it in the first place if it did not have value) ...you think I won't keep a copy of that? esp when it is so ridiculously cheap to digitally copy that..
Anytime there is a lat/lon associated with a data point you have created a matter of permanent record...we do this multiple times a second whilst we preform our functions in the field. Who would you like to be the caretaker of that?
this also applies to all of your cloud storage: emails, documents, etc
think about the levity of the potential liability/security risks before you take advantage of such a convenience | |
