Subject: RE: Confirmed rumor

Glenwood, Mn

Sat - 8/26/2014 07:44 Here's the confirmed rumor that I heard, CME was doing technology upgrade this weekend that cause a delay in trade Sunday evening. These technology upgrades include yield data being linked in real time from combine monitors national wide. This will enable the CME group to have a instance read on yields and use it to "screw the farmer" The next update will be installed this coming weekend and has been rumored to be the "Bend Over Bottom"

Not to say "I told you so" but I saw this coming a looooooooong time ago.

The problem is not just one person uploading data, it's many.  The traders will always be one step ahead of Johnny farmer because Johnny farmer doesn't have the same access.  If someone has access to all the data, and you only have access to a small portion, that "competitor" aka trader will definitely have an advantage on their decision making skill.  How any farmer thought sharing yield data was a great idea was beyond my comprehension.....  I was told by my insurance guy that JD wanted to link up YM for insurance purposes as well.  I looked at that as just another ploy to access your data for sale/profit.  On the flip side of that, I have had most of our crops custom harvested the last couple of years and the YM's were not calibrated and not at ALL close.

Think of it this way, if you are negotiating on a piece of equipment, and you know the seller is more motivated because they have a lot of inventory to move, would you not try to drive the price down even harder?  Why would the same not apply to grains and grain stocks?  Just another excuse to get grains to break evens or near break evens.
