I like your swather idea, using the combine as just a power unit. You also could go center delivery with a little feeder house modification, that would create some more flexibility. High visibility, plenty of power, low cost. Only thing is if you are wanting to run anything but local scrap the idea and buy a swather because you can move it with a pickup vs. a truck.

How would it compare to just running the R72 dollar wise? How does the depreciation in value of the combine compare to buying an old N?

The grain cart idea I have always thought would be neat as well--you have an idea--maybe go ahead and make it sprayer capable to to maximize usage?
