Kingston,Mi | It's been many years since I was there, but it has a larger collection of mechanical items than does the Smithsonian (except aircraft) they even have a few old Chevy's.
Edit: There are 2 parts to The Henry Ford, a collection of historic buildings assembled as a village and a museum located next to The Village, bet than many eastern communities wish they weren't asleep at the switch when Henry Ford high graded their historic buildings.
