I never could figure out why JD didn't put a SG cab on them to start with.
I don't know either. It really makes no sense to me why they didn't. The only things I can come up with is either the cost would be prohibitive or possibly that they (meaning JD) didn't want that tractor to take sales away from the 4630. It is my belief that a cab like such would have been a slam dunk and actually help sales. I say this because if you have two 6030s parked side by side and one has a noisy square cab that was essentially retired in 1972 when 4020s and 4320s ended, and the other 6030 has the new soundguard cab that basically came right after the 6030 itself. I know which one I would pick. Just sayin.. |
