boatload - 8/10/2014 14:27 You need a bushy bean and use a lighter population. That was my game plan this year. I added VR to my planter and cut the pop back in the good ground. The reason was because I have lodging EVERY year in beans in the better soils. This year I have tree trunks. So far so good. As far as "losing" yield, the lodging cost me 20% or more in yield and made it a PITA harvesting. Looks like the lower pop does compensate by putting on plenty of pods. The yield monitor will tell the truth. Worst case I break even and have an easier harvest. |
