I assume it's probably either an MT 643 or 653 trans. We have the MT 653 in all six of our farm trucks. They seem to be bullet proof. We have never had a problem even loading spuds in the field in 100 degree heat. Just follow proper maintance and they will last a loooog time.
We dont have near the breakdowns since we got the whole fleet swapped to the allisons and any one can drive them .
Holst Truck Parts in Ucon Idaho could give you a price on what a rebuilt one costs
