Be ready to own it a year then trade for a newer bigger one! I started with a t200 bobcat track and traded for a new bobcat t750. Most used machine on the farm now, don't know how we did without it. Run the different types of controls. Some Bobcats have ACS which is a dual control system and lets you switch between Hand and foot, and all hand. Pilot controls are the latest and greatest but will likely be over your budget.

Buying new some brands like Bobcat and NH charge a couple grand for EH controls. But used values on those machines are not always higher because people who are brand loyal often like their traditional hand/foot or the ACS controls.

EH or Pilot are standard on some machines like Cat, JCB and many track machine. Most if not all of these machines do not offer foot controls.

If you are new to skid steers, get something with ISO pattern controls and get used to that from the get go, then later on if you want to switch brands you don't have to switch controls since they all at least offer ISO pattern.
