I use to run a chain harrow behind my field cultivater. Never thought it leveled the ground good enough. It will go thru standing stalks fine but they have to be dry. If I notill  beans into a field a little wet, I wait a day then go in with harrow and it stirs up just enough dirt to close the seed slot.
