Subject: 4420 tailings elevator

Saranac, Michigan
I have a 4420, 2900hrs., that is in pretty good shape and runs with very few problems, but for some reason the tailings elevator slip clutch starts slipping and we check for the elevator or tailings auger or the auger that goes to the cylinder ( what we can see of it) being plugged. Generally nothing there.
The elevator feels like its jammed but there is nothing that we can see that it would catch on. What are the chances that there is something that would jam the cylinder auger and then lets go if we back the elevator up about 1/2 a turn?
We don't have a book unfortunately.
