Adelaide Hills, South Australia | Maybe a typo Gerald, 1/2" is 12.7mm, 1/4"is 6.35mm, etc. I just don't want anyone to stuff up a measurement, that can ruin your day!
I calculate the conversion the other way. I was taught at tradeschool 1 inch is exactly 25.4mm, it will hold up in a court of law and it is less numbers to remember. That calculates to 0.03937008 inches, but what farmer needs to be that accurate, I often just use 0.040inches, 40 thou.
