Near-north Ontario, French River | On another note, I'm considering doing the clutch, only because I'm concerned it could have been damaged when the bearing let go. Clutch is HD ceramic, and was new in winter of 12/13, if I was guessing I'd say it has 75K km on it, only been adjusted once . Am I worrying too much about damage? I guess it depends which bearing on which shaft let go but I figured changing the clutch was cheap insurance since the tranny has to come out anyway. Mechanic said he's left some clutches while doing tranny swaps, some have lasted years , others mere weeks. None of the clutches had visible damage at the time. So am I wasting $1000 ( parts and labour) by doing the clutch?? They can't get to it until Monday so I have time to consider my options. |
