Subject: RE: Humus is good isn't it?

SW Minnesota
So Humus is decomposed Organic in simple terms. One of the reasons I'm asking has to do with Hog Manure. Most on the ground I farm ha been getting Hog manure as it sole and now as its major source of fertilizer. With a little starter and some commercial fertilizer I keep my phosphorus in the High range on my soil tests. My tests show high in Organic matter whether it has had manure for 15 years , 10 years or less. Could it be because the hog manure turns in to humus sooner and easier than plant residue? My ground gets soil tests ever other year as part of my manure management plan so I will ask for test of humus now.
