I used to be on a VFD and worked EMS for 6 years. Policy at all the parades we were in: Lights only,,,,, in the event there was an emergency sirens would be used, so people knew to get out of the way! Oh, and we used to keep a little distance between the entries also. Our parades would be darn short if there was only 8-10 feet between the entries.
