I had a neighbor that would bale his hay on the ground and then go out after milking and stack them 3 bales high so it would be quicker when he did have help to pick them up. One time when he did that we had a couple big rains and the bales were out there 2 weeks before he could get them picked up. He commented that the middle bale wasn't to bad! 66% loss!
