Pre-mix.   32:1 ratio. 4 oz oil to 1 gallon gas. What the book calls for. 

Crankcase oil and trans oil are the same.  They call for a 30W oil to do both jobs. 

When I get up and go and look behind it is smoking a little, but not a dark fog. 

I agree on the rear wheel locking up and it not being an ignition problem.  It has only locked up once like that for me.  But than again I am only 180# and the bike is only 225 # dry.  I should take it out and get it up to speed on gravel tomorrow and just push the kill button and see what the rear tire does. 

When I drained the oil tonight I had all 40 oz.  It looked quite clean and very few medal flakes on the mag. oil plug.  Like 2-3 very small slivers. 


Modern 30wt oil is not acceptable for premix in a 1980 2 stroke. 1980 30wt will work but there were much better things even then. You scored the piston.
