Thats just transmission oil.

Sounds like an ignition coil problem. Its not uncommon for them to be ok when cold and then stop working when they get hot.

I've had a couple big bore thumpers and none of them would lock up the rear wheel when running out of fuel above second gear. Locking up the rear wheel in 5th gear because of an ignition problem does not seem probable to me, especially on a 2 strok with minimal engine braking. I'm not saying its impossible.

I wonder if you held the throttle at a constant rpm for that 50 mph stretch? 2 stroke dirtbikes don't like that and seize.
