For population just set it as shallow as it will go, chain up the press wheels, go out in the pasture and plant 17ft 5 in and count the seeds. Write it down. Only way to really know with any planter. Assuming 30 inch rows. In the shop you could turn the drive wheel one turn and measure the outside diameter in inches and divide by the number of seeds and get close. If you're using Kinze brush units for beans just take the seed count from your finger units times 12. Assuming 60 cell plates and 12 finger pickup units.
