| There are two types of auto shift transmissons in over the road trucks. The first ones were called autoshifts with a clutch pedal, and around 2007 the ultra shifts came out without a clutch pedal. I have heard that an ultrashift clutch can last as long as an foot operated, but can cost two to three times more to replace. Also the ultrashifts can get jerky when trying to inch them back and forth. An autoshift can be converted back to a manual shift if they start screwing up bad enough. | |
