Palestine Illinois | We planted corn after wheat a few years ago. Planted on June 23-23. 30 acres made 170 30 acres made just over 100, I think. It was over 30% moisture.
But before we planted it I remember asking a landlord what he thought about it. Is it to late. His response stuck with me. He said as he recalled; you plowed it, then risked it twice, then applied nh3, then field cultivated it twice, then planted it to corn. He said that took a lot of time, and you could not worry about the date. As long as you got the tillage done all would be fine. So planting in June would not be a problem. | |
