W.C. Mo.
I've spent the last 3 weeks planting into 5' tall cereal rye--thank goodness for autosteer. Chasing the drill with sprayer shooting glypho and aim. As the beans come up the rye is white and laying over-solid white mat with dark green beans pushing through.
One thing I have learned planting into 5'+ rye is not to worry about the pop monitor since it hooks into the radar which does not like solid rye brushing against it-- usually shows 10 to 50% wheel slippage when there is none.
Hopefully the solid mat of rye will hold down the waterhemp germ like it did last year.
