SE MN | Yes, I see your point. A better bean worth more in the end, should cost you more to purchase. I would argue that it should still be more profitable to grow that bean than another. I will compare that to RR1 beans vs. RR2 bean on our farm. The RR2 beans cost us more to seed, but the increased yield is more profitable. I know this is kind of apples and oranges, but my point is the same. We are not the worlds premier supplier of soybeans today. China would much rather buy from South America. I support the checkoff because I want beans to continue to be a relevant crop in the USA. | |
