SE MT
Q500 good question, but a hard one to precisely answer. As everybody's backyard is different, also are we talking a cow/calf, feeder, finishing, or a milking operation??
Old Macs #s may be spot on in his area, but mine are vastly different. No pun here, but I've never heard anyone sell corn or cows by the acre. I like to talk in percentages of profit or ROI,s. Also use the unit of measure the crop is marketed in.
Also, labor vastly varies for rowcrop also, I flood irrigate most of my crop. And I do not haul my cattle, therefore I'd say I put way more labor into my rowcrops.
I do believe in being diversified though, timing is everything. You have to enjoy what you do most of all, Goodluck. I gave you a poor answer, sorry.
