So that post was when FC was still in the 170's. Three more nickels or so on it now since then... So maybe over $500+ /hd profit now?

Using the same assumptions, that would take it to $70 / ac, before labor... And labor is considerablely more with cattle than crops. Labor in, might be lucky to be over $50/ac.

The considerable increase in work over row crops is the clincher. We are finding out right now, exactly what premium will be needed to make all the extra time and work worth it.

A lot more work should = a lot more dollars. When it doesn't, it's a bad deal, and people want out - which brings us to the situation we are currently in.
