Subject: RE: Komatsu d61 & d65 dozer??

Somerville, Indiana
We have leased a 65 a couple years, with straight blade for production, not grading....The 61 with 'inside blade' has all the cobble in front that weighs in more than we may think, also a lot of pins bushings and hoses to deal with...Also a 61 with wider or longer roller frame will catch on several pounds against a 65 with standard length roller frame and narrow track shoes...Disadvantage to the Komatsu is they change models and major parts more often than the ones favored here, that deters short line companies from building fast moving parts that tractors working in sand and dirt use in time if they are to be in service...email works, I know I have a hard time making sense at times.
Forgot to add the Komatsu is very user friendly and with their recent cabs are a joy to operate...Operating expence/hour is what is a little vague here.
