Subject: RE: RTK base station external antenna?

NE South Dakota
I was working on the same scenario last week. Talked to the AMS gal at my dealer and she sold me a special harness JD has for this application.
It is a 300' cable so the globe stays down close to ground and stable but then you use 300' cable to mount radio on top of leg, so you don't need a different antenna.
If you open up the shroud there's a plug in where the radio plugs in with a four pin connector. You just plug radio into cord and other end of cord into shroud harness.

This is supposed to eliminate worrying about the right antenna wire and loosing signal.

The funny part is I order this 300' cable ($484) and go to pick it up and the parts guys ask me to pull around to an overhead door since it's a big box. The box is 8' long!! They assured me it's an RTK harness.
Get it home and open it up, there's an 8' grounding rod in the box. So besides a four pin connector on each end, the cable has a wire come out that you hook up to the grounding rod.

Glad I didn't have my wife stop to pick up this harness with her car.
